please wash my brain. please.

I saw these girls play yesterday at one of the SXSW day shows here in Austin, and they were so much fun! I love the fact that I have a job where I can take a lunch break, walk across the street and see three amazing bands play (La Luz, Ex Hex and Speedy Ortiz).

With that being said, dear Godzilla I have been tired this week. Sugar detox is no fun, kiddies.

I am relieved to be able to chew again after all of the dental work I had last week, but it’s amazing how much time it takes me to finish one of the Fuhrman Salad Troughs.

Today’s food: B steel-cut oats with apple and almond milk, coffee with coconut milk/ L big ass salad with cherub tomatoes, avocado, grilled red peppers, onions and mushrooms, cucumbers and sesame garlic dressing/ S (if hungry) grapes and coconut yogurt or a piece of GF toast with pnb D kabocha squash with kale, mushrooms and cashew cream sauce OR peanut citrus salad, not sure which yet.

I have started studying A Course in Miracles and it is very, very interesting so far. I need a whole series of blog posts to even touch upon that!

  1. It always makes me so happy when I click your link and see you’ve written something new. I’ve been thinking of you, hoping you’d get to enjoy some of the SXSW action!

Detox sucks. It may be kicking your ass right now, but ultimately you’re kicking its!

And I’d looooove to read your whole series of posts on it!!!

  2. I really like la luz, and am so happy that you got to see them on a lunch break! Go Austin! Husband and I wanted to move there until we realized what a problem the summer heat is for his migraines.

Oh detox, up yours! My body goes through so many phases & levels of detox when I clean up my eating. You’d think that would be motivation enough to just cut the crap for good. I hope your sugar detox passes quickly, and that you feel fantastic on the other side of it.

I’ve always been interested in A Course In Miracles. Please do write about it!

  3. Thanks to you both!!! And damn, N, I wish you guys had moved here! It is an awesome town, all discussion of the hellacious heat aside. I am enjoying the beautiful weather while it lasts. Summer is always a really good time to stay inside and catch up on lots of reading. And do yoga. It’s too damn hot for anything else!
